It pains me immensely to say this, but our worst fears have now come true. Cyberpunk 2077, perhaps one of the most highly anticipated games of all time, has now been delayed.
The announcement was made by CD Projekt Red through their official Twitter account, where it was revealed that the game would not be able to make it’s original intended release date of 16th April, 2020. It will now be released on 17th September, 2020.

The developers mention that although the game is currently in a state where it is playable form start to finish, the sheer number of moving parts and stories that make up the title require a lot more polish before they are comfortable enough to put it out into the world.
The company will be using these extra months to finish playtesting the game, and to make sure that it is perfect on launch day.
Now while I’m personally very sad to hear about this delay, I think that I echo the sentiments of most of the fanbase when I say that more polish is only a good thing for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set for release on 17th September, 2020 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC.
