The Deus Ex series of video games have been praised for their storytelling, but more importantly, for their open ended gameplay that places freedom of choice in the hands of the players. They have also been some of the most well received Role Playing Games of all time.

And this is true for every game in the series, except perhaps for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the most recent entry in the franchise which left many fans disappointed. The series desperately needs a proper conclusion, and it seems that that it will finally be getting one.

David Anfossi, Studio head at Eidos Montreal, has now confirmed that the Deux Ex franchise is not dead, and will be getting another title in the future.

He revealed in an interview with PCGamesN that the studio is currently busy with development on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with a co-development role with Crystal Dynamics on The Avengers and a third as of yet unannounced game that many have speculated to be based on Guardians of the Galaxy.

He said:

Deus Ex, of course, it’s the brand of the studio. We are all attached to this franchise, but we cannot do everything, you know? So we have Shadow of the Tomb Raider, we have this co-development with Crystal [Dynamics] on The Avengers, and we have a third game in development, so it’s enough at the moment for us.”

So good news for Deus Ex fans because it seems that they will be getting another game, but bad news for them as well because who knows how long it will be before active development on the title actually starts.
