The primary currency is State of Decay 2’s apocalyptic world is Influence, which players can earn by doing a number of different things around the map.
And while earning influence for common things such as buying consumable resources or weapons from traders can be fairly easy, accumulating enough of it for some of the more pricier ventures can take a bit of time and effort.
Below are some of the best ways to earn Influence in State of Decay 2:
Depositing Resources: Going out into town and scavenging for resources among the hundreds of different buildings, and then depositing them into your home base’s storage nets you a very varied amount of Influence depending on how much you actually deposit.
Freak Zombies: Killing Freak Zombies such as Bloaters and Juggernauts can net you anywhere from 5 to 15 Influence.
Helping Survivors: Assisting survivors that reach out to you over the radio from time to time can also net you upwards of 50 influence.
Infestations: Taking out random infestations, which involve taking out Screamers and a bunch of other regular zombies, can also net you a varied amount of Influence.
Luxury Items: From time to time, players will come across luxury items in the world. These items serve no real purpose except to be traded, and can net you anywhere from 25 to 35 Influence when trading them with other survivors. You can create Luxury Items such as whiskey by installing a Still in your home base.
Multiplayer: Assisting other players over online co-op can also earn you some Influence. It can also earn you some fairly decent weapons and resources.
Plague Hearts: Destroying Plague Hearts is perhaps the most lucrative method of earning Influence in the game as it nets you 100 of it each time you destroy one of them. They are however very limited in number and each of them gets progressively more difficult as you destroy them.
