While it’s been a few years since Microsoft initially announced that they would be bringing full mouse and keyboard support to the Xbox One console, it seems that the company is now finally drawing closer to a proper release date for the feature.
Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management for the Xbox Platform, just announced in a blog post on Xbox Wire that they will enable support for mouse and keyboard for the Xbox One in the coming weeks for a select few members of the Xbox Insiders program. Support for everyone else will be coming a bit later.
Xbox also says that while functionality will vary on a case by case basis in terms of games, they have been working closely with a number of different studios to ensure that the mouse and keyboard experience on consoles is properly balanced.
They also mentioned that while most USB keyboards and mice will work on the Xbox One, the company has also partnered up with Razer to develop a range of these peripherals specifically tailored to the Xbox One.
More information about this is set to be announced in the coming weeks by both Razer and Xbox.
